Calling all parents & caregivers of LGBTQ+ Teens!

Are you struggling to support your teen while also embracing your new normal? Are you unsure where to find answers to your questions or feeling alone on this journey?

If you answered “YES” to any of these questions, this parent support group may be right for you! Join other parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ teens for six, one-hour sessions, full of support, guidance, education, and more, led by Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kasey Wiggam.

SESSION topics

  • Learn important terms your teen may be using, and the differences between sexuality and gender identity.

  • Learn the stages of coming out - both for your teen and for telling your family and friends.

  • Learn what is helpful vs harmful when talking to your teen about gender and sexuality.

  • Learn what dating and relationships might look like for your teen and how to navigate uncomfortable conversations.

  • Learn about the challenges and risks you may need to be prepared to help your teen through.

  • Receive resources for both you and your teen, including mental health referrals, educational supports, and more.

GROUP details

  • No! Despite being facilitated by a licensed therapist, this group is not therapeutic in nature. It is meant to help parents and caregivers learn more about the LGBTQ+ community, how to support their teen (and themselves!), and build community with other parents going through the same major life change that you and your family are.

  • Every other Wednesday from 6:00-7:00pm.

    The first session will take place July 10th and continue every other Wednesday through September 18th.

    July 10, July 24, August 7, August 21, September 4, September 18

  • $45 per session for individual attendees ($270 total).

    $65 per session for two family members ($390 total).

    Fees are due, in full, at the time of registration. Payment plans are available and will be discussed upon request.

  • Sessions will be held IN-PERSON at Rosemeade Counseling.
